Are you great at providing a service and establishing a sales lead? Working on marketing activities and campaigns to make our client stand out from their competitors. Working for a powered access company on the outskirts of Wakefield, our client is still experiencing growth and has done year on year since 2008. They are now looking for a Sales Development Representative to ensure they are giving new potential customers the right first impression!

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Business Development and Marketing teams to develop new prospects according to ‘best fit’ with the companies established Ideal Customer Profile
  • Leverage their inhouse system to pool intelligence and customer insight with the wider team
  • Be ready and willing to share your successes and challenges with your colleagues and manager
  • Work flexibly, helping with reasonable ad hoc duties as required
  • Cultivate an in-depth product knowledge
  • Generate new sales leads through outbound calling, email marketing, social media and other relevant channels
  • Follow up on inbound leads and other campaign generated opportunities
  • Profile strategic accounts identifying key individuals, researching and obtaining business requirements and presenting solutions to start the sales cycle
  • Evaluate prospective buyers’ circumstances, behaviors and personas to establish strong correlation with the companies Ideal Customer Profile.
  • Classify cold leads based on their need, budget and decision-making responsibilities
  • Categorise leads systematically to establish priorities
  • Strive to create positive relationships with prospective customers, nurturing at every stage of their journey (e.g., sending of personalised content)
  • Make good use of social media platforms to identify and approach prospects
  • Work closely with the Head of Marketing to ensure alignment to current marketing campaigns and strategies
  • Analyse data to ensure best use of time within the lead generation process
  • Report any opportunities and threats to the Head of Marketing or Business Development Managers, escalating concerns and suggestions for improvement
  • Work proactively to gain a good understanding of our markets, potential customers and their pain points
  • Maintain accurate lead status updates in the CRM system

Key Skills and Experience

Hours of work - 40 hours a week Monday to Friday

Pay - £23k to £25k DOE  

On target earnings of upto £31k

Monthly bonus between £250 to £500.

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with a friendly telephone manner
  • Natural influencing and persuasion abilities
  • An ability to read people and their requirements, and respond positively and sensitively
  • Excellent time management, administration and organisational skills
  • Resilience in the face of adversity
  • Analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Tech savvy with a keenness to stay on top of latest industry developments
  • Self-motivated with an ability to work autonomously, take responsibility and report back on own performance
